I'm the ball....

Ever heard the phrase, "Some times you're the bat and some times you're the ball?" Today I'm definitely the ball. It seems like everything (I know that's an exaggeration) that could go wrong today has gone wrong today. But I survived the work day and now I'm home and ready for the weekend.

Here is to a good weekend! At least I completed the Bucket Mission today.

There is one good thing for today.

Better Eating

Lately I have been trying to get my family into more healthly eating habits. I have bought fruits and protein items for breakfast that are easy to eat in the car since we are rushing off to school and work. I am trying to eat six small meals throughtout the day instead of eating two large meals and one tiny one which has been our trend. One person gets left out of the equation because, well, there isn't much you can do for a seven month old. Or so I thought...

The new trend is moms making there own baby food which I thought was a crazy waste of time. But I have come to change my mind. We eat a vegetable or two at dinner every night and I buy plenty of fruits, so why not just throw some of them in the blender and puree them for Braylen? He resists eatting from a spoon most days but now that he has some teeth I could just chop things up pretty tiny and let him feed himself. What a novel idea. Pictures to come of the gourment menu for my seven month old.

Bucket Mission

I am on a mission. A mission to find the perfect beach buckets. We are going on a beach trip with some other families in September. Some of us moms decided it would be fun to make little buckets filled with goodies for the kids. We might write names on them and stuff them with age-appropriate (as we have a range of ages) toys or activities for the kids. I'm responsible for getting the buckets, but I'm have a dilema.

What size bucket is good? Would a small tote bag be better than a bucket? And possibly the most important with eleven kids; is it cheap??

Whew.... It's been a busy summer

It's official, Ryan is now a Pre-K student. She will be completing her first week of Pre-K tomorrow and she is thrilled about going to school. Now if only the big yellow bus picked her up! It's amazing how much my girl loves to learn. Here she is all ready for her first day.

Yesterday we gained a new family member. Jason's brother Mike and his wife Kendra had their first baby. A boy named Nathan James. He is darling! Ryan is already in love with him. The first words out of her mouth this morning were, "Can we go see my baby cousin?"

Kids say the greatest things!
