We have had such a chaotic weekend with family in town and doing all kinds of stuff. I'm happy to have these weekends because it means we have family that we are close to, but I'm also relieved it's over. These weekends when there are extra people in our house are stressful for me and I usually don't get all my "chores" completed. This means I will be catching up on laundry all week and the house still needs to be straightened and clean. It's exhausting, but like I said, family is a great reason to get so behind.

Case of the Mondays....
I absolutely have a case of the Mondays today. It seems the only person that slept well at our house last night was Ryan. Part of that could be because she fell asleep on the way home from my parents house around 6:45 and slept until about 6am. Braylen woke up twice crying, probably due to the thunderstorms that rolled through Woodstock last night. Since he woke up twice, Jason and I woke up twice with him. Then, of course, my phone started beeping around 2:30am because it was dying. That really woke me up because usually my phone is my alarm clock so I had to wake up and turn on my actual alarm clock. The alarm clock went off around it's usual 5 am which is WAY too early in my opinion. But I have to be at work by 7am and I spend at least 40 minutes commuting, so I don't have much choice.
All that said, I could really use a nap. Instead I'm blogging while I watch my kids do this....
Some day he will learn to stop throwing toys out of the tub because no one tosses them back to him.

Ruled by Technology....
It has come to my attention that a large majority of my memories over the last two years have been captured by my cell phone. I don't have one that has a particularly good camera, so maybe my next cell phone should have a nice camera feature. I guess my phone is just so easily accessible that I grab it automatically. Occasionally I have caught myself reaching for my phone to snap a photo and I realize my camera is actually right beside the phone. Not to mention the ability to immediately upload or text the adorable image of my children is there as well.
What did we do before our cell phones could run our lives???

Lent
I've always been interested in food.... How it looks and tastes and most importantly what it does for your body. I was introduced to the book, Eat Right For Your Blood Type several years ago. The author is a scientist that claims your body breaks down food based on your blood type. If your blood type is A+ (like me) you should limit your beef, pork and poultry consumption.
I got the book from the library a few weeks ago and have brushed up on all things good and bad for type A's. There is a long list of foods to avoid, foods that are beneficial and foods that are neutral. The author recommends starting with the foods to avoid - slowly cut them from your diet. I started with meat since I figured that would make the biggest difference.
So far giving up meat - all except fish, has been really, REALLY difficult for me.
And here we are at the season of Lent. I'm not Catholic and I don't know much about Lent. I'm not even sure why Catholics give things up for Lent, only that is should be a sacrifice. So I am giving up meat for Lent (with fish being allowed.)
Today is only day two and I'm struggling! I have never wanted meat so badly. It's not one specific item, it's all those convienent foods. A salad from Chick Fil A, a sandwich from the deli, etc....
Hopefully tomorrow will be better. 2 days down and 38 to go with fish tacos and red rice for dinner.
When my 40 days are over hubby needs to take me out for a steak.
