Tis the season
for colds and ear infections! Ryan has a double ear infection AND swimmers ear. Poor girl can't touch her right ear without crying. We went to see the doctor last Friday for some medication; ear drops that hurt and every one's fav - amoxicillian. Thank goodness she is already feeling a little better now that the meds have had a few days in her little body. We go back to the doc in a week or so to make sure there was no permanent damage to her ear drum. There was some drainage so she may have a small hole - not good. We're saying lots of prayers that the drainage was just the swimmers ear. We'll keep you posted on her progress.
Ahhh....
It feels like fall in Georgia. We have our windows open and a crisp breeze is filling the house. For the first time in months my darling son is sleeping in footy pajamas. Some I have been waiting months to see him in and couldn't imagine him being big enough to fit. Ry is snuggling deep into her covers at night instead of moving all over the top of the sheets.
Now that the weather is changing I'm thinking about all the fun fall activities gearing up. Football games have started, we are planning trips to the pumpkin patch and Halloween costumes. I have aspirations of making a really yummy apple crisp with real north Georgia apples. yummmm.... So many plans so little time. Keep tuning in and hopefully I will get better at blogging about our fall adventures.

Home....
We are home from our trip now. The house is fine as far as we can tell. You never know what fun is lurking on the side of the house/yard that still remains to be discovered. There is still some standing water from all the rain. Hopefully that is the only evidence of all the rain and it will dry up soon.
We had a great trip. All my pictures have been uploaded to my snapfish.com account. I've browsed a few of my favorites. We took family pictures last night, around sunset, which was stressful. I haven't looked at all the pictures, so I'm not sure we even have one with all four of us looking at the camera with happy faces. Can't wait to check out those photos. Until I have more time to write I am leaving you with one of my favorite pictures. My two fellas....

Historic Rain
This week is Fall Break for our county's school system. The kids get an extra week off since they start the school year earlier than other counties around us. Since Ryan is out of school this week we took a 5 day vacation with some other families that we are close to. Before we even left there were a few days of sporadic rain, but since we have been gone there have been record breaking rainfall. In the town next to ours, where a few of our friends live, there has been almost 20 inches of rain in less than 3 days. Roads are being washed away, people are drowning in what was their backyard and homes are being flooded.
We have been blissfully unaware of this trauma since the weather in Panama City Beach has been so nice. Before we left I kept a close eye on the weather here is PCB. The forecast showed some rain which I prayed would not be the case. The weather has been so pleasant until today. We have had some isolated storms here and there, but so far we have been truly blessed. There will be pictures posted of the vacation later. Tonight we are hoping to get our family's picture taken at sunset on the beach, then off to a good seafood dinner and prayers that our trip home tomorrow is uneventful.

8 Months Old
Yesterday Braylen turned 8 months old! It's hard to believe that eight months ago I was in the hospital with a tiny, brand new baby boy. It seems like he has been a part of our family for much longer than that already. Not to mention the first few months of reflux that I would like to forget. :)
B-man is already crawling any place he wants to be. He is pulling up on the ottoman in our living room for a better view of what's going on. He has even taken a few steps while clinging to Jason's hand or a piece of furniture. I'm totally unprepared for this. I thought boys were supposed to develop slower than girls. I have been counting on this to be true for my baby. We are already two thirds of the way through his first year.
The first year is supposed to feel like it goes on forever, but this is the part I want to cling to. What am I going to do when the babbling sounds he makes turn into words? Unlike Ryan who didn't get her first tooth until she was about seven months old, Braylen is working on his 5th tooth! That's right, 5th. He is refusing jar food because, let's face it, if you had the ability to chew up real food would you want that nasty stuff? He is munching on anything I hand over. Loves french fries, green beans, chips, cooked carrots, mashed potatoes and ice cream.
He is simply growing up faster than I can handle.

New Moon the Movie
I'm a total GEEK over the Twilight saga and I know it. It's actually a little scary how much I love these books. I blame most of my obsession on the fact that I was pregnant when I read them, you know, the heighten emotions and all that "stuff."
Anyway, the movie for the second book, New Moon, is coming out in November. Summit Entertainment has just released a third trailer for the movie that shows new scenes and I can't stop watching it. This time we get to see the Volturi and more of he Wolf Pack. I was an Edward fan while reading the books, but I think I'm beginning to be more of a Jacob fan now. The relationship between Jacob and Bella is definitely a healthier one and I like that Jacob is a smart ass. Kinda reminds me of Jason.
*Sigh* Will I make it until November to see the whole movie? I don't have much choice. It would be much easier if they would stop releasing new trailers.

Flying Time
Do you ever stop to smell the roses? To feel your life rushing past you? It's a terrible feeling.
My kids are growing up so fast and some days I catch myself being so caught up with making dinner and cleaning up the house that I forget to enjoy the every day "stuff" that my family is doing. Braylen is 7 months old. Six months ago when he was so tiny and throwing up after every feeding I remember thinking it would never end. Six very short months later he isn't throwing up and he isn't so tiny. He is a normal and healthy seven month old little boy that is already determined to do things his way, like eating only by his hands and not a spoon.
Ryan is 4 years old and in PreK. I thought this day would never get here because four years seemed like such a long time. Once you have kids time flies. I have to remind myself every day to pay attention to all the little mundane things that we are doing every day. I don't want to forget ANY of them. Like last night when Ryan was asking about Heaven. We asked her what she thought Heaven would be like and where it was. Her answer? Perfect for a four-year-old. Ryan's Heaven is in the mountains with Taylor Swift. She is so amazing and I don't want to forget a minute of her childhood. I just have to remember to stop and look around and memorize what I can.
